Our introduction to Golden Retrievers began 39 years ago with our first dog "Broomhill Boy" (Bruno) in Acklington a small village in Northern England. Although never in the show ring Bruno was trialled successfully at obedience trials.
We were founding members of the Golden Retriever Club of Northumbria, showing under the prefix "Whinbonny". Golden Melody of Whinbonny (Bindy) was our foundation bitch from which Whinbonny Golden Retrievers originated. Bindy and her daughter Whinbonny Apricot (Kirsty) produced many offspring who were shown extensively in the late 70's early 80's in the U.K.
We emigrated to Western Australia in 1981 and had a small show and breeding kennels in the Darling Range on the outskirts of Perth.
In October 2010 we relocated to Sidmouth, (just north of Launceston) in Tasmania
Our kennel currently consists of Ambermist Gale Force CD AD JD (Willow), Chaleur Strike M Handsom (Remus), Ch Applewoode Dusted N Gold (Soda) and Ch Applewoode Never a Doubt (Bailey).
Holly (Ch Clairedoree Applewood) passed away in January 2010.
