Training Information

Classes are offered in conformation, agility, obedience, and puppy training. Below you will find a list of our current trainers, and you can contact them directly with questions, next scheduled classes, drop-ins, and fees. Mantayo rents the facility so we do not control any aspect of the trainers' fees. Our trainers have been selected because they provide years of experienced training, competing in AKC obedience, conformation, and agility trials. They can help prepare you for competition, or simply help you train a well behaved companion and family member. Our training building provides exceptional matting to provide a comfortable surface on which to train your dog.
2012 is starting out very exciting for your dogs here at Mantayo! We have added new, very qualified trainers and we have expanded our classes! Make sure to contact the trainers below and get your dogs started!

A Pet's 10 Commandments:

1. My life is likely to last 10-15 years. Any separation from you is likely to be painful.

2. Give me time to understand what you want from me.

3. Place your trust in me. It is crucial for my well-being.

4. Don't be angry with me for long and don't lock me upas punishment. You have your work, your friends, your entertainment, but I have ONLY you.

5. Talk to me. Even if I don't understand your words, I do understand your voice when speaking to me.

6. Be aware that however you treat me, I will never forget it.

7. Before you hit me, before you strike me, remember that I could hurt you, and yet, I choose not to bite you.

8. Before you scold me for being lazy or uncooperative, ask yourself if something might be bothering me. Perhaps I'm not getting the right food, I have been in the sun too long, or my heart might be getting old or weak.

9. Please take care of me when I grow old. You too, will grow old.

10. On the ultimate difficult journey, go with me please. Never say you can't bear to watch. Don't make me face this alone. Everything is easier for me if you are there, because I love you so.

Conformation classes here are one of the only ones actually taught by a professional handler! Train with those that work with all-breeds and have years of handling knowledge. You can not learn from those with limited breed exposure. Our classes teach you how to WIN the game!

Both Level 1 & 2 are a 6 week course to teach the dog and handler 20-24 basic freestyle moves. Level 2 teaches attention, motivation work, advanced moves, and work on mini routine. Both Level 1 & 2 are 6 week courses and are $120.00 for the course. Both Level 1 & 2 are required before attending drop in classes.

You will learn valuable foundation skills; walk politely on a leash, behave in public, pay attention, come when called, wait, self-control, settle, offer desired behaviors. This is a perfect class for those older dogs, adopted dogs, even dealing with aggression issues! These classes have so much to offer any dog or situation.
