Mumford Mastiffs was established in 1982. We have owned English Mastiffs for more than 25 years now and love the breed. My husband Glyn owned his first Mastiff "Samantha" in the early 1980's. (Please visit "Our Past" bullet to learn more about Samantha.) As a child he always wanted to own a Mastiff. He was in High School when he saw one, and said. "that is the dog I am one day going to own". At the time he was wrestling in the 170 pd weight class and what impressed him was that the dog was bigger than him. Glyn went on to Wrestle in College. He married and finally got his mastiff! Since that time he has owned a few Mastiffs as family pets and had a few litters over the years. I met Glyn in 2002 and married in 2004. Together we have 6 children. I myself new nothing about the breed until I met Glyn, but since I have been in love with the Mastiff ever since. I have done extensive research on the breed over the last few years and feel confident that I can contribute to the breed through selective breeding of my own. My goal with our Mastiffs is to breed selectively to try and promote what I have learned is a good quality Mastiff. One of great size, soundness, grandeur and most importantly a great temperament. We do love this breed and want to share our experiences with others.
We are a family of 8 that live in Geronimo, Texas. For those of you who do not know where that is, we are between San Antonio and Austin Texas; about half way. We live on a 10 acre farm and have 6 children ranging in ages from 12 to 30. Our 30 year old son recently retired from his 4 year deployment in the US Army and is now married, working for the FBI and living in Washington DC. They have 2 pugs:) Our 26 year old son is currently enlisted in the United States Navy and works in the Field of Intelligence as well. He has returned from his Tour of Duty in Iraq and now is living in San Diego with his new wife Kelley and their two pugs...go figure! The 30 year old chose to enlist in the army after graduating from Texas State University to fulfill his career dreams. Our 22 year old daughter has recently returned from traveling abroad and is now living at home again and going to nursing school. Our 17 year old is currently a senior and has been asked to play Basketball in College for Schreiner University. She is an all around athlete and great student. Our 13 year daughter is currently in the 8th grade. She is invloved in "Irish Dancing" and competes often around the US. She is a natural dancer, athelte. etc. As for our last but not least 12 year old son is heading to sixth grade and his 6th year of Tackle Football. They are all wonderful children. We have plently of room for the dogs to roam around as they please both inside and out. Our Mastiffs spend plenty of time outside receiving the fun and exercise they need and deserve. Our Mastiffs are all well adjusted to children. We take them on car rides, trips, games, etc. My husband is retired now and is able to tend to all the families needs.
