Welcome to NorthernKnightStaffords! We are so happy that you are interested in a Staffordshire Bull Terrier. The Stafford is a loving,loyal,courageous,intelligent and well balanced dog. My husband and I started our search for the perfect family pet about 7 yrs.ago. I stayed up late searching the internet for the perfect dog that would fit our family. One night I came across the Stafford(short for Staffordshire Bull Terrier)as I read about the breed I was very interested but the next step was to find a reputable breeder. I started by attending local dog shows and about 6 yrs.ago we met Pete and Denise Marsh of Claymore Staffords. Their dogs were everything a Stafford should be and more, so right away we were put on the waiting list for the perfect puppy. The main reason we decided on the Stafford was their infinite love of children. In England the Stafford is known as the "Nanny Dog". We got our boy Chief in October of 2005 and he has been such a blessing and joy to our family. They have incredible love for children which I have experienced first hand with our own children. My youngest was 3 when Chief came to live with us and honestly I was a little nervous. My little boy wanted to hang all over the puppy,pull on ears, you know toddler stuff! I have to say though Chief never did anything, he has been wonderful to every child that has been around him!! I would like to add though a child should never be left alone with any breed of dog,considering it is an animal.
