Whiskey & Darcy after eating their bones
Achievements:
The photo above of Whiskey (2) was taken at our first house in 'suburbia' after we left our local Zoo where we were engaged as caretakers/zoo keepers, and to maintain the 25 acres of grounds.
Whiskey was very gentle and lived with many species of Australian native fauna which included Koalas, Macropods, birds, etc; that we cared for at our home in the zoo. Whiskey became best mates with the grey Kangaroo "Dink" that lived with us and followed us and Whiskey everywhere we went for many months. (We invested many hours into total humanization and training of Dink, and also had the difficult task of 'weaning' him off the meat diet fed to him by his well-meaning former 'carers' who were in fact the actual Roo shooters that had shot Dink's mother!, (trying to keep Dink out of Whiskey's food bowl was a never-ending saga!!!). Dink of course had to be castrated to keep his size down and to curb any aggressiveness so that he would be suitable to become the next star of the series "Skippy"................................. He was a very good "Skippy"!!!.
Whiskey was present at our wedding and to the amusement of all present - 'danced' with our guests!!!.
We lost our lovely boy Whiskey (2) at the age of 15 1/2 years when he had to be euthanased due to an inoperable football -sized tumour. He is sadly missed.
The next photo is of Whiskey and Darcy - Taken shortly after they finished their bones, hence the reason they both appear to have just 'taken down a wild beast' - with all that blood in their coats!!!.
