Welcome to Pintado Collies, Tasmania, Australia . . .

Pintado is a small kennel devoted to rough collies.

We are located in the stunningly beautiful Huon Valley – just 50km
south of the state capital, Hobart – amidst the apple orchards, pinot noir
vineyards, blueberry farms and black swans of the Cygnet Peninsula.

Pintado as a prefix derives from the black and white checquered
seabird – the Cape Petrel – that plies the waves of the nearby
Southern Ocean. Its common name "pintado" was given to
this species of petrel by Portuguese seafarers on their voyages of
discovery and commerce.
