Achievements:
Amy was by my multiple Group winning dog Charlie pictured with my outstanding first show dog and Amy's dam, Ele. These two awesome springers gave me Amy, my first home bred Champion and the foundation for the wonderful dogs I have today. Amy had many nice wins in the states as a young bitch, such as Best Puppy in show at GLESSBA, BOS wins over specials bitches, and many major reserves. An injury to her hock shortened her American show career, and left her needing her majors to finish her CH. She finished her Canadian CH with the help of buffered aspirin, but I knew she was quality and I didn't need the AKC title to prove it. Amy retired to the whelping box at 2 1/2 where she produced 5 champions, 4 from the same litter and a group placing dog from the classes breeder/owner handled Ch. Briarton's Stormy Affair. Unfortuately some of her best puppies ended up in wonderful pet homes with owners who just had no interest in showing. The most notable was Briarton Hearts Afire, Rocky won Best puppy in show at the 1993 ESSFTA nationals, Best puppy in Show and RWD at the ESSCM fall specialty the same year before his owner requested I let them neuter him. It broke my heart, but the distance between Rocky's home and mine, made it difficult at best to continue showing him. Thanks to Charlie, Ele, and Amy I've had many wonderful memories, and continue to experience the thrill of owning and handling what I feel are some of the finest English Springer Spaniels of this decade. But then I'm not bias :o)
