Orthopedic Foundation for Animals
OFA documentation should be available for sire and dam of puppies from any reputable breeder. If they cannot hand you a copy of these documents - you need to look elsewhere for your puppy. |

Canine Inherited Disorder Database
Please visit and see what genetic disorders are known to be found in the golden retriever and other breeds. REMEMBER - if you are looking to purchase one of the "new fads" in dogs such as the GoldenDoodle etc...just make sure you look at ALL the genetic disorders in BOTH the golden retriever and the poodle. Your chances are quite high you will have disorders with a dog that is NOT a REAL breed of dog - NOT available to be registered with the American Kennel Club and NOT able to have health clearances by OFA.
You are paying top dollar for a "mixed breed". If this is your desire - then PLEASE go and adopt a needy puppy or dog from a local shelter for a small fee and make a donation to that shelter. |

Ratings of Current Dog Foods
Here is a wonderful site that tells you what you are REALLY feeding your dogs. They have broken down the dog foods from a 6 star rating to a 1 star rating. Also, they have broken down the ingredients and explained why what is good and what is not for your beloved pet.
Please take note that some of the 6 star rated food should not be fed to a growing puppy. Some of these foods should only be fed to adult dogs when growth plates have closed. |
