Our History

Smooth Ridge - a small show kennel located in Kentucky. Our goal is to produce the best we can, improving on each generation. Breeding for the standard. Striving for healthy, sound dogs with good temperaments. We are members of the AFTC and SFTAA. We were introduced to the Dog Show World by Anne Beckwith of Halcar Kennels. We obtained a retired show female as a pet in 1984 from Anne. Then......maybe WE can do this dog show thing? It all began with the purchase of a show quality puppy Dec.1990,from Crovenay Kennels, Marty Marx, DVM. CH. Crovenay Leather-N-Lace, known as "Lacey" We managed to finish Lacey with 4 majors. This was an accomplishment considering Eddie and I were totally new to this. We were hooked and the rest is history !! We began our breeding program in 1993 and have completed championships on several of our dogs, owner handled.
